Red tower becomes a schnapps bottle – Chemnitz celebrates a new highlight!

There is an exciting new addition in Chemnitz for lovers of fine spirits: the products from the Brauhaus distillery are now available in striking Red Tower bottles. These new bottles are already very popular and expand the range in the region. This is reported by the Free press. The bottle itself, which imitates the shape of the Red Tower, not only has a practical use, but is also a real eye-catcher.

The association, which was launched in December 2024, is dedicated to the care and promotion of the Red Tower. André Donath, an active member of the association and also the owner of the Turm-Brauhaus, made a significant contribution to the creation of an artists' table in the tower. This iron table, but also bobblehead posters with historical and current aerial photos of the city, encourage you to think about the history of Chemnitz.

Arts and crafts at the Green Table

The artist's table in the Red Tower is a true work of art in itself. On the top floor of the tower, it offers a multimedia introduction to cultural, industrial and city history. The information of the Red Tower website illustrate the close connection between art and craft: The table legs, which were designed and cast at Wolkenburg Castle in September 2024, are reminiscent of the tradition of Saxon iron casting.

Four talented artists, including Anna Franziska Schwarzbach and Dr. Michał Staszczak, contributed to the project with their individual table legs. Her artistic approaches combine modern techniques with historical elements, creating a dialogue between past and present. What is particularly noteworthy is that the company's own cupola furnace, operated with scrap iron, functioned as a central casting plant.

From art to history

The Neue Sächsische Galerie is also an exciting place for art lovers in Chemnitz. This contemporary art museum, like chemnitz.de reports, focuses on the development of art in Saxony since 1945. Between six and eight exhibitions are shown here every year, which also take national artists and works into account.

The gallery's collection includes almost 12,000 works and, in addition to exhibitions, also offers numerous events such as guided tours, lectures and artist discussions. These initiatives promote exchange between artists and art lovers and underline the cultural diversity of the region.

In summary, it can be said that not only the new Red Tower bottle is causing a sensation in Chemnitz, but also the musical activities in the tower and the Neue Sächsische Galerie invite a wide audience into the history and culture of the city.
