This event, followed with great interest by many in the theater community, promises to provide a glimpse not only of the scene's best talent, but also of significant artistic achievements.
Particularly noteworthy is Sofiia Stasiv from the Theater der Junge Welt in Leipzig, who was nominated for her remarkable performance in the dance solo “Mobb”. Her performance was described by the jury as “sensational” – Stasiv managed to create captivating communication with her looks and gestures.
Outstanding productions and talents
The Staatsschauspiel Dresden and the Theater Chemnitz draw attention to themselves in the directing category. Dennis Krauß from Theater Chemnitz is nominated for the production of the opera ballad “Sleepness”. The jury praised Krauss' direction and stage design as autonomous and independent of comprehensible realities. Another highlight is the ballet evening “Next Generation” at the Landestheater Eisenach, which was also nominated. It offers four parts designed by different choreographers, including Lucia Giarratana and Andris Plucis. The jury particularly emphasized the exceptional level of the young choreographers as well as Plucis' remarkable postgraduate studies.
The Ensemble Tanz Harz, which impresses with “Da Vinci's Magic” at the Harz Theater in Halberstadt, is also one of the nominees in the category of dance performers. The jury praised the ensemble’s “dancing quality and dedication,” reflecting the high artistic standards considered during the crucial selection process.
The gala and the meaning of the prize
The German Theater Association has been awarding the “Faust” since 2006 in collaboration with the German Academy of Performing Arts and the Cultural Foundation of the States. On this evening the prize will be awarded in a total of twelve categories. This year the gala will take place on November 15, 2025 in the Theaterhaus Stuttgart. Here the winners can be celebrated in a festive atmosphere.

In addition to the regular categories, there is the possibility of awarding special prizes, such as the “Lifetime Achievement Prize” or the “State Perspective Prize” for innovative projects that could enrich the future of the theater. These initiatives show that the theater community is always looking for new ways to bring and promote art and culture into society.
