Dresden Night Run: Massive closures and local restrictions!

The 16th Dresden Night Run will take place on Friday, August 15, 2025. Preparations for this sporting highlight are already in full swing, and there is some important information for participants and spectators to note. According to the city administration, a section of the beautiful Terrassenufer in the heart of the city is already closed for the Dresden City Festival, and further closures for the night run have been announced.

The closures start on Friday at 8 a.m. for the area between Hasenberg and Rietschelstrasse. Later in the day, from 4 p.m., the section between Rietschelstrasse and Sachsenplatz will be closed. Naumannstrasse, Goetheallee and Käthe-Kollwitz-Ufer up to the Waldschlößchenbrücke will then not be accessible from 5:30 p.m. to around 10 p.m. There will be significant restrictions, particularly in the Sachsenplatz and Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz areas, from 7 p.m. to 10:15 p.m., which will affect both pedestrians and drivers.

Closed bike paths

There is also news for cyclists: The two Elbe cycle paths between the Albert Bridge and the Waldschlößchen Bridge will be closed to bicycle traffic on Friday, August 15, 2025, from 2 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. It is important for all participants and spectators to observe the respective detours and signs in order to navigate safely through the city.
