Dynamo Dresden thrilled: New signing Rossipal wants to win with passion!

Alexander Rossipal is Dynamo Dresden's first new signing for the coming second division season. The 29-year-old left-back moves from Hansa Rostock to the Saxons on a free transfer and brings a breath of fresh air into the team. As is well known, the fan camps of Hansa Rostock and Dynamo Dresden are enemies, but Rossipal remains calm and is fully focused on his new challenge.

Dynamo Dresden was already interested in Rossipal last year, who was still under contract with Hansa Rostock. Last season he played 32 games in the third division, scoring two goals and assisting three more. He also has experience from a total of 37 second division and 114 third division games, which will be of great use to him in Dresden. Rossipal emphasizes that Dynamo's style of play fits well with his own philosophy. “I want to share my experience with the young players and act as a human enrichment for the team,” he explains.

A new beginning in Dresden

Dynamo Dresden is currently preparing for the new season, with the clear goal of getting promoted back to the 2nd Bundesliga. The first test match is on July 16, 2023 against Slavia Prague, where the team can expect 4,000 fans to support them on site. The game ends in a 1-1 draw, which sounds quite promising for a first meeting. Manuel Schäffler scored the first goal in the 88th minute, but Ivan Schranz equalized just a minute later. The third division season starts on August 5th with a home game against Arminia Bielefeld, followed by another game against SV Sandhausen.

Coach Thomas Stamm recognizes a valuable player in Rossipal. “His good left foot and his experience will help us,” he says. While many in the team are still at the beginning of their careers, Rossipal already has a wealth of experience that is also important for introducing young talent to the professional level. "I see parallels between Rostock and Dresden. Both cities are emotional, the fans are behind their team," said Rossipal, who has already arrived in Dresden with his wife and dog and is intensively looking for an apartment.

The risk-taking player

The discussion about Rossipal's optimal position continues. It is noted that he often played alongside defensively weaker teammates. His riskier plays could be more effective in a stable defense. Some experts suggest using him as a left-back in a back four where his potential can be fully exploited.

Expectations are high, but Rossipal is ready to adapt. He sees the challenges of the new league and the competition within his own team as an incentive to give his best. The experienced player is also aware of the critics who know him from Rostock. But he is determined to prove himself in Dresden and optimize his game.

With this new addition, Dynamo Dresden shows that they are setting the right course for the coming season. Rossipal could become the key player the team needs to target promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga. What happens next? We can be excited!
