Dynamo Dresden in need: Schreiber is out - who will replace the goalkeeper?

SC Dynamo Dresden will have to prepare for a challenging situation in the coming weeks. goalkeeper Tim Schreiber will be out indefinitely with a hand injury. The 23-year-old stopped training on Tuesday and is therefore unavailable for the upcoming away game against Preußen Münster. Head coach Thomas Stamm said that a goalkeeper's hand is of great importance and referred to the somewhat more optimistic situation of striker Daferner, who was able to return more quickly from a similar injury. It remains to be seen how long Schreiber's injury will keep him off track.

“We cannot make any precise predictions at the moment,” Stamm said at a press conference, adding that the team’s squad depth would now be tested. In addition to Schreiber, other players also have injury concerns: Julian Pauli is struggling with a muscle injury and Sascha Risch and Jakob Zickler have shoulder problems. “We hope that our squad is big enough to respond to the injuries,” said the coach.

The look forward

The situation for Dynamo Dresden is tense. They are currently in the relegation spot with just six points from eight games and urgently need to get back on their feet. Coach Stamm made a clear statement: “The points scored are not enough to achieve our goals for the season.” In this difficult phase, Lennart Grill will be the likely replacement in goal. Stamm was optimistic about the competition between Grill and Daniel Mesenhöler: "Both goalkeepers have strengths and are in the starting eleven in the competition. Grill has a better position in the competition," said the head coach.

But their opponents Preußen Münster are also struggling with injuries. Striker Etienne Amenyido is suffering from knee problems, while full-back Jano ter Horst is also out due to an infection. What is positive for Münster, however, is the form of Oliver Batista Meier, who used to play for Dynamo and has emerged as one of the team's top scorers. So it will be an exciting duel on Saturday in which both teams will be required to find alternatives and play to their strengths.

Fight for the points

The challenge for Dresden becomes clear not least in the table: the squad is filled, but the demands are increasing. Every point counts and with a clear focus on the upcoming match against the vagaries of injuries and their own form, the Dynamos hope they can turn the corner. Under the leadership of Thomas Stamm, the fight to stay in the league will increase, while the team must rely on the potential of its players.

The upcoming games offer enough material for speculation - and perhaps one or two players will have to prove their 'good hand'. This is the only way Dynamo Dresden can turn things around in this tense situation.
