Art revolution in Dresden: Fluxus exhibition inspires until March!

The art scene in Dresden is currently being enlivened by the exciting exhibition "Fluxurious! Art and Anti-Art from the 1960s to the 1990s", which can be seen in the Blockhaus. This unique show, organized by... Archive of the Avant-Gardes (ADA) Organized by the Dresden State Art Collections (SKD), it shows around 90 works from the fascinating Fluxus movement. From November 8th, 2025 to March 8th, 2026, visitors are invited to discover new things that have not been exhibited before.

Fluxus art is known for its unconventional approaches that break the traditional boundaries of art. This exhibition tackles the core of this movement and allows visitors to enter the world where art, everyday life and communication merge. The works of artists such as Yoko Ono, Joseph Beuys, George Brecht and many other outstanding names challenge the audience's perception and make it clear that art can be much more than what hangs in a frame.

Insight into creative diversity

The impressive collection put together by curator Antonella B. Meloni includes a variety of objects: from musical lines and text panels to political allusions to meditative objects, everyday objects, posters, films, photos and sound installations. Particularly noteworthy is Yoko Ono's “Box of Smile,” which contains a small mirror and encourages reflection.

The exhibition addresses the diversity and social process of Fluxus. As reported, the artists have dissolved the boundaries between art and everyday life through their performative actions and interdisciplinary happening formats. In this way, the art world was not only entertained, but also permanently changed. Fluxus is presented here as a lively, open process that invites visitors to actively participate and re-experience the concepts of art.
