from the closure to renewal

The turbulent history of the school began with the closure during National Socialism when Palucca was no longer allowed to teach in the free dance in 1936, and ended when the school was closed in 1939. It was only after the Second World War to reopen her school in Dresden in July 1945. This new opening was an important step to keep the artistic dance alive. In 1949 the school received the status of a professional training center for artistic dance and developed the subject of "new artistic dance" under Palucca to preserve its individual style.

in the time of the GDR, the school rooms were rebuilt at the basto rug and in 2010 the school was finally renamed the Palucca University of Dance Dresden.
