Construction site chaos in Görlitz: Summer holidays bring traffic disruptions!

From next Monday, June 30th, things will be going down to business in the Görlitz urban area. The city uses the summer vacation to get up the construction site activities and carry out necessary renovation work. This happens to minimize traffic and at the same time increase the quality of life of the citizens. Let's take a look at the most important construction sites that will deal with us in the next few weeks.

lane renewal in Promenadenstraße

A real chunk is waiting for the road users in Promenadenstrasse. Here the road surface between Friesenstraße and the elderberry path is renewed. The construction site will be completely closed from June 30th to July 7th. For the time after - from July 8th to 18th - a lane remains open; Traffic is regulated using construction sites. In the direction of the state crown, passengers await a detour via Reichertstraße, Reichenbacher Straße, Görlitzer Straße and Schlaurother Straße. If you come from Kunnerwitz, you have to adjust to a large -scale detour via S 111 and the B 99.

repair of the tram tracks on Zittauer Straße

parallel work takes place on Zittauer Straße (B 99). Here the tram tracks are repaired between July 2 and August 8. The road remains accessible to the city that is being and for the city, while the city's traffic is diverted via Goethestrasse and Sattigstrasse. To ensure that everything runs smoothly, a traffic light is set up on the traffic control at the Goethestraße/Sattigstraße/Rockhausstraße.

water pipes on Biesnitzer Straße

we come to Biesnitzer Straße - here the drinking water pipes will be renewed from July 2 to 25. During the work, the road towards Zittauer Straße is reverse to the one -way street. If you want to meet, you have to dodge via the Sattigstrasse, Melanchthonstrasse and Lutherstraße (B 99). A mobile traffic light at the south exit station ensures that pedestrians can also get across the street safely.

But the construction site reports are not yet exhausted. In addition, the Straßentheater Viathea has been held since June 26 to June 27, which also leads to full closures and traffic disruptions, especially in the period from 4 p.m. to around midnight. And there are also important excavations on Biesnitzer Straße itself that will continue until the end of July.

diversions and traffic regulation are announced

In all of these construction sites, a half -sided blocking for traffic is expected, while in other areas, entire sections of roads are temporarily closed. So diversions are mandatory! Make sure to follow the signs and traffic lights that regulate traffic and enable safe crossings for pedestrians.

For everyone who is traveling by car, the following applies: planned detours and short -term changes can influence the flow of traffic. It is worth choosing informed routes and maybe using public transport more often!

Overall, it shows that Görlitz is in the middle of a comprehensive renovation phase that will bring many advantages in the long term. So stay calmly in the traffic jam and support the work that will soon lead to more fluid traffic and more beautiful roads.
