Chaos on the streets of Görlitz: Police report accidents and drug driving!
On November 6, 2025, the police report from the Görlitz district provided some interesting and worrying news from the region. The most important events of the day are summarized here.
In Mücka, a speed check was carried out in front of a school. Of the 138 vehicles checked, 14 had too much on the clock. The turbo under the lawn was a Mercedes that was caught doing 61 km/h in a 30 zone. The fast speed turned out to be expensive for the driver: he had to expect a fine of 180 euros and one point in Flensburg.
Unpleasant accidents
A disturbing incident occurred on the S 122 near Waldhufen. A 41-year-old BMW driver overtook several cars, then crashed into a turning Nissan and overturned. Fortunately, he was uninjured, but the damage to property is significant and amounts to around 25,000 euros. The driver's license is now gone because the police confiscated it.
Another accident occurred in Ebersbach. Here an unknown person overtook with the hazard lights on and caused a chain of accidents in which a moped driver fell and sustained minor injuries. The police are now looking for witnesses who can provide information.
An Audi and a BMW collided in Eibau. The damage amounts to around 14,000 euros, but fortunately no one was injured.
Crimes and misdemeanors
In Zittau, the police had to deal with two men who were riding two manipulated e-bikes. The 33-year-old was under the influence of amphetamine and cannabis and both received charges. This fits into a sad overall picture where a number of bicycle thefts have been reported in Weißwasser, including an e-bike worth 770 euros that was stolen between October 19th and November 3rd.
There is also worrying news in Weißwasser about an unconstitutional symbol that unknown people scratched into the window of a shop, causing property damage of around 3,500 euros. The state security agency has started the investigation.
A case of drunk driving was also registered in Weißwasser: Here a 74-year-old VW driver was caught behind the wheel with a blood alcohol level of 2.14. A blood sample was ordered and the vehicle keys were confiscated so that the elderly man could no longer go on the road.
Thefts and other incidents
There were several reports of thefts. In Bad Muskau, thieves stole tools worth around 3,100 euros from a forestry machine. A stolen car trailer was also discovered parked in Olbersdorf.
In another incident in Zittau, a repeat offender was caught: A 41-year-old Serb was caught without a driver's license 32 times and now has to pay a fine of 3,700 euros.
The community is urged to pay more attention to the security situation as the number of crimes in the area is alarming. Citizens are now asked to be vigilant and help the police solve the crimes.
The police will continue to carry out increased speed checks and additional measures to increase safety on the roads.
