Three Görlitzer disappear in space: premiere at the Castle Ober Neundorf!

On August 22, 2025 at 7:30 p.m., a very special short film will celebrate its premiere in the historic ambience of the Ober Neundorf Castle: "Losing in space", a captivating science fiction film that was made with LEGO® clamping block. Admission is already from 7:00 p.m., and the spectators can look forward to about 20 minutes full of adventures, which comes up with technical problems and superheroes. Producers of the film are the creative heads of Lester Balz, Juri Lorkowski and Theodor R. G. Schiemann, the latter also composed the film music that is performed live.

Theodor and Juri, both only 15 years old, put this film together with the 51-year-old Lester Balz. The idea arose during a conversation about spaceships, and after a short time they started writing a script. A total of about 250 hours of work in weekly meetings flowed into the implementation of the project. But despite the extensive effort, the young producers emphasize that they did not attach much importance to character formation at the start - rather they were concerned with the action and the imaginative adventure.

The fascination of brick filming

What makes Lego films so special? The history of brick filming, which began in the 1970s, testifies to the creativity of thousands of animators worldwide. The first known brick film, "En Rejse Til Månen", was created in 1973 and published in 2013 with great success. The triumphal march of the Lego films took up primarily through the introduction of the "Steven Spielberg Moviemaker set" in 2000, which included a Lego camera and animation software. This led to a growing popularity in the Brickfilming community, a passion that still lives.

The love for Lego and the diverse possibilities of telling stories not only bloom in the small: In the past few decades, Lego has successfully produced movies in cooperation with big film studios such as Warner Bros. and Universal Pictures.
