After-school festival at the anthill: A colorful festival for future school starters!

On September 5th, the Ameisenhügel hoarding facility at Clara-Zetkin-Straße 52 was transformed into a vibrant festival area. Despite the initial rain, the good mood was not dampened and numerous visitors flocked to the after-school festival. Facility manager Maria Neumann was particularly pleased about the many future school starters who were specifically invited for this day. With a colorful program and interesting stations, the little ones were able to get to know everyday life in the after-school care center in a playful way.

The numerous activities ranged from climbing to crafting and building. Visitors also had the opportunity to explore the entire house through guided tours. The presentation by the fire brigade, police and the Falck rescue service was particularly inviting, offering the children exciting insights into their work. Maria Neumann warmly thanked the parents for their active support, especially with the food, which ensured their physical well-being. The guests were able to help themselves to a rich buffet, which further sweetened their visit to the festival.

Important community support

A festival depends on its supporters, and the Hortfest in Görlitz was no exception. The close cooperation with the parents, who actively helped with the organization, ensured that the event ran smoothly. The motto of these joint efforts is clear: only together can great things be achieved. While the after-school festival in Görlitz brought a lot of joy, the school and after-school festival in Markkleeberg, which is planned for April 30, 2026, is also just around the corner. Under the motto “Klimakids”, numerous attractions are provided to convey the topic of sustainability in a child-friendly way.

For the little guests in Markkleeberg, the program includes, among other things, a bouncy castle, a soccer dart game and a photo box. In a project week on the topic of “Sustainability and Climate Protection”, the children are given the opportunity to work creatively with recycled materials and design their own products, such as insect hotels and beeswax cloths.

Diverse offers for children

But it's not just these festivals where the fun isn't neglected. There are also numerous offers across Germany that appeal to children with music, theater and hands-on activities. The programs are flexible and can be booked for various occasions, be it in schools, at club festivals or in amusement parks. This means families, schools and community organizations can easily and easily access these diverse offerings, creating unforgettable experiences for children. The after-school festival in Görlitz and the multitude of future events show once again how important it is to give children space for creativity and the joy of learning. At a time when community and support are needed, both the event in Görlitz and the upcoming celebration in Markkleeberg proved that the motto “Making a difference together” is a living reality.
