With midsummer temperatures of 35 degrees Celsius in the shade and a pleasant water temperature of 25 degrees Celsius in the natural pond, the “Hafen-Häppchen” kiosk promises a refreshing break. Through the Socio-Cultural Center (SKZ) Telux, which has taken over responsibility, the kiosk is managed by Sylvia Schibilsky-Winkler, who already has experience in the gastronomic industry and has many memories from her childhood associated with the Jahnbad, such as Sächsische.de reported.

Particularly noteworthy is the new gastronomic offering, which includes classic snacks as well as special dishes for groups and, as befits a kiosk, also provides a well-stocked ice chest. This is particularly important because Gruners Eismanufaktur was not secured as a supplier in time. A very special highlight: The bistro plans to occasionally function as a pop-up restaurant - the first idea is Italian cuisine accompanied by classical music. This means that the Jahnbad is not only a place for relaxation, but also a cultural meeting place.

Culture and events at the Jahnteich

The Jahnbad is not only valued for its culinary offerings. It has become a popular venue offering a variety of activities. From bingo and harbor cinema to a quiz lab and creative holidays for children – there really is something for everyone here. The city of Weißwasser contributes to ensuring the swimming pool operations through its own staff. The sports facilities in the Jahnbad area were also given new life as part of the renovation that took place in 2020 and 2021.

The SKZ's contract for the kiosk initially runs until September 2024, and there is interest in a longer collaboration. During the holidays, the opening times in the Jahnbad are from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., with the kiosk being open from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. From August 11th to 31st, the times will change to create variety and offer guests an ideal experience. A special event that everyone can look forward to is the Schlagernacht on August 2nd - pre-sales for this start next week.
