Shocking crime: several thefts and drunken driving in Görlitz!

On November 6, 2025, the region around Görlitz will see a colorful picture of traffic violations, criminal activity and fire incidents, all of which attract the attention of the police. In Seifhennersdorf, for example, a 54-year-old Ford driver was stopped twice without a valid driver's license. The car key was seized and the police have already filed a report. In another incident, a 29-year-old Golf driver tested positive for cannabis, amphetamines and opiates; Here too, a blood sample was ordered and the corresponding report was made.

The community of Bad Muskau also fell victim to thieves: the thieves stole tools worth 3,100 euros from a forestry machine, while the property damage is estimated at 500 euros. The investigation is now underway. A case of vandalism in Weißwasser caused further trouble, in which the facade of an apartment block was daubed with an unconstitutional symbol. State security is also investigating here.

Drink driving and traffic accidents

Reports of drunk driving are increasing: In Weißwasser, a 25-year-old Opel driver was stopped with a blood alcohol level of 0.54, and a 41-year-old from Krauschwitz was driving with a blood alcohol level of 1.14. His driver's license and vehicle keys were confiscated. Another serious case occurred in Hoyerswerda, where a 68-year-old driver was stopped with a blood alcohol level of 1.5. Here the driver's license was confiscated and the man was caught driving his vehicle again.

A rear-end collision in Holtendorf also made headlines in the region. Here, a 69-year-old Ford driver and her passenger were slightly injured, while the property damage is estimated at 15,000 euros. There were further accidents in the Görlitz area, including a rear-end collision with material damage worth 500 euros, in which fortunately no injuries were reported.

Fires and break-ins

The fire brigade was also called upon several times: a fire broke out in a building in Großhennersdorf, leaving two people seriously injured. However, the fire brigade was able to quickly extinguish the flames. Another fire occurred on a house facade in Görlitz, which resulted in smoke poisoning of four construction workers.

Furthermore, criminal activities were not only limited to thefts, but also included burglaries. In Bernstadt, tools and building materials worth 14,000 euros were stolen, while other burglars in Halbendorf took advantage of the residents' absence and caused total damage of 8,000 euros.

The picture is rounded off by various reports of alcohol and drug driving as well as numerous cases of vandalism and theft throughout the region. A wanted man was stopped at the border control in Zittau, where he paid his fine. In addition, a 36-year-old driver was stopped in Görlitz due to a positive drug test. The police remain called upon to ensure greater security in the affected areas.
