Culture is blooming in Saxony: Theater projects according to X-Dörfer are still active!
Cultural life will continue to be actively promoted in the Saxony region, even though the Dresden State Theater's X-Dörfer project ended at the end of 2024. A total of 20 innovative projects were created over a period of three years, ranging from an inclusive theater project in Bischofswerda to a writing festival in Pirna to a culture café in Freital. Numerous initiatives are now ready to continue their work. MDR reports that in Nossen the theater group “Bühnenvolk Nossen” is already rehearsing for its third production entitled “Made in Schmotzen – the past sells well”. The premiere is planned for early 2026.
As far as the future of the cultural projects is concerned, Gesine Fiedler, an active member of the Nossen theater group, is pleased about the reactivation of the group after the end of the X-Dörfer project. The city of Nossen supports the group by providing rooms and funding is applied for through the Leader program. However, the financial situation for the coming year remains uncertain and a cause for concern.
Diverse projects and collaboration
In Riesa, the Bürgerbühne worked with refugees and locals to develop a piece about the search for happiness. In order to further promote this creative exchange, the theater groups are forming working groups and are already planning performances with their play “Kinderpunsch”. Meanwhile, the projects are active in other cities such as Pirna, Freital and Bischofswerda and are thus proving to be a living part of the cultural landscape. What is particularly interesting is the networking of amateur theaters, such as between the Bürgerbühne Riesa and the Sandsteinspiele in Saxon Switzerland, which promotes the exchange of ideas and talent.
The former director of X-Dörfer, Miriam Tscholl, is optimistic about the continuation of the cultural offerings in 16 of the 20 locations. She emphasizes the importance of culture and encounters for living together in communities.
Technological developments in the background
Apple's latest chips, the M3 series and the more powerful M4 chips, have also reached NPU performance of 38 TOPS, while Intel and AMD are coming up with new processors that offer NPU performance of up to 50 TOPS. This shows once again how important it is to select the right architecture - whether the traditionally powerful Intel x86 or the energy-efficient ARM - for different applications and user groups. Comheld emphasizes that the choice between Intel and ARM depends on the individual requirements and areas of application.
Cultural and technological development shows that creative ideas and technical innovations can go hand in hand to create a lively and promising environment. How the cultural projects will develop remains to be seen, but it is clear that the enthusiasm for theater and art in the region remains unbroken.
