Art tombola in Leipzig: 200 works for cultural projects in the region!
What's coming up in Leipzig? An exciting art tombola entitled “200×200” awaits art-loving visitors. On September 13, 2025, the spinning mill tour in Leipzig will become the stage for a creative spectacle organized by the association Land in sight.
This brings together 200 works of art by well-known regional and international artists such as Norbert Bisky, Kristina Schuldt and Matt Dillon. The proceeds from the raffle are expected to bring in up to 40,000 euros, which will be used for cultural and democracy projects in Saxony. The raffle aims to both increase the association's visibility and secure funding for Saxon cultural projects, especially in view of the increasing application and financial needs in these areas.

The raffle will be a highlight as it will not only provide a unique opportunity to purchase art, but also the projects of Land in sight to support. The association, which has been active since 2019, promotes charitable projects in rural regions and small towns in Saxony. Hans Joachim Meyer, a former Saxon state minister, once emphasized that such initiatives are often accompanied by foundations that strengthen the character of cultural work in the Free State of Saxony.
The tombola is given a special touch by the donation of one of his own works by David Schnell, a Leipzig artist and co-founder of the association. His screen print, inspired by the spruce forests in the Dübener Heide, will belong to one of the lot buyers. This is how art combines with a good cause in a very special way.
Promoting the cultural landscape of Saxony
With over 30,000 euros already made available for 20 charitable projects in June of this year, the financial need and urgency to further advance cultural work in Saxony is clear. The Cultural Foundation of the Free State of Saxony also plays a central role in this structure by acting as a reliable partner for cultural workers and promoting autonomy and creative freedom.
The art tombola in Leipzig is not only an opportunity to experience and win art, but at the same time supports important cultural and democratic projects at a time when these are often particularly challenged. So if you are interested in art and want to make a contribution to culture in Saxony, you should mark September 13th in red on your calendar!
