Warehouse fire in Chemnitz: Fire brigade in continuous use!
on Saturday evening, June 29, 2025, there was a devastating fire in a warehouse in Chemnitz, which immediately developed into a major event. At around 6 p.m., the fire started in the back yard of a company building on Chemnitztalstrasse and spread quickly. The fire brigade was in use for several hours to fight the flames and prevent further spread, but unfortunately the hall burned completely.
The emergency services were faced with several hundred euro pallets who went up in flames and ultimately seized the warehouse itself. Despite the courageous efforts of the fire brigade, three of their members were injured: a 19-year-old and two 34-year-old were slightly injured during the extinguishing work and supplied by the emergency services on site. Mayor and fire brigade spokesman confirmed that the injuries are not life -threatening.
large -scale fire service deployment
To combat the fire, numerous firefighters were deployed, who remained on site on Sunday morning to extinguish embers. The rapid use of the fire brigade prevented the flames from overlaping to adjacent buildings, which could have prevented worse. However, three vehicles nearby were damaged by the fire, and there was an unimaginable property damage. The Chemnitz criminal police have already investigated the cause of the fire, which is currently still unclear. An exact assessment of the damage is still pending.
The warehouse that served a gastronomy service was full of materials, the exact content of which is still unknown. Road users in the area of Chemnitztalstraße are currently expecting restrictions, since there is only a alternating free lane between Further Trift and the outcome. Local drivers are urgently asked to bypass the area in order not to hinder the rescue and extinguishing work.
