State parliament debates: security, raw materials and an election in Saxony-Anhalt!

A look at the political agenda in November! On November 13th and 14th, 2025, exciting meetings are on the agenda in the State Parliament of Saxony-Anhalt. There are around 30 points to be discussed, including three current debates, two major inquiries as well as eight legislative proposals and an election. The starting shot will be given on both days at 9.30 a.m. and, as usual, the sessions will also be broadcast live.

The main topics of the current debates already give a foretaste of the discussions. The CDU parliamentary group will deal with the topic of “Identifying and solving problems – for a friendly and safe cityscape in Saxony-Anhalt”. Inspiration for this debate can be found in the statements of Federal Chancellor Friedrich Merz about the cityscape discussion. In addition, the FDP brings up the topic “Enable or prevent the use of domestic raw materials in the country?” on the agenda. The AfD, on the other hand, will question democracy and discuss the abuse of laws.

Choice and inquiries in focus

Another exciting point is the upcoming election in which Hagen Kohl from the AfD will be elected as Vice President of the State Parliament. This shows that the political landscape in Saxony-Anhalt is still in flux.

In addition, two major questions from the left are being discussed: one addresses school social work and the other highlights the situation of single-parent families and single parents. The state government's response will be discussed in plenary session, which will certainly lead to lively discussions.

In addition, another consultation day will take place in Magdeburg on November 20th and 21st during the 35th session of the state parliament. Here, too, there are over 20 agenda items up for debate, including four current debates and one major question. The variety of topics ranges from a motion by the AfD to end the war in Ukraine to a bill by the Greens to change the country's building regulations.

The possibility of following the meetings via live stream will be of interest to many citizens. This means everyone who is interested in political decisions in Saxony-Anhalt can keep their finger on the pulse of what is happening.
