Leipzig-Grünau: New Kändlerstrasse daycare center opened for 165 children!

A new ray of hope for the little ones in Cologne: After 18 months of construction, the new daycare center in Leipzig-Grünau has opened its doors. 165 children, including 45 daycare places, can now be expected at the Kändlerstraße 1 location. The new building, which was designed as an integrated children's and family center, impresses with its high proportion of wood and an efficiently planned floor plan that meets the modern needs of daycare centers such as LVZ reported.

The conversion was necessary because the old daycare center had serious deficiencies in the areas of fire protection and electrical systems. Environmental protection was taken into account when the old buildings were demolished: existing trees were left standing and parts of the old structure were used as filling material for the new foundation.

A well thought out concept

The new premises not only offer space for the children, but also for exciting activities and developments. With sculptural stairs that lead to the upper floor and optimally used open spaces, everyday day-to-day life at the daycare center is significantly enriched. Arcades provide shade, and the green roof blends harmoniously into the surroundings. Load-bearing walls, ceilings and facades rely on wood; the staircase and the elevator shaft are made of concrete.

Thanks to this well-thought-out design, a welcoming atmosphere is created for the children, who can not only play here but also learn. The high proportion of wood also promotes a healthy indoor climate. Such innovative approaches are particularly important in order to optimally support children's development.

Future prospects

In recent years, many daycare centers have taken similar steps to implement modern educational standards. The opportunities in the area of early childhood education are increasing because the demand for high-quality childcare places is already high. This new facility could set a good example for other cities that also want to have a good hand in education.

But there is also less good news for everyone active in the wine industry: Kitá Wines, known as the first brand founded by an indigenous tribal member, will close in April 2023. This decision was made after careful consideration, with entrepreneur Tara Gomez running the brand alongside her wife. Despite the closure, Gomez is optimistic and plans to continue supporting BIPOC and LGBTQ+ professionals in the wine industry, like on Independent is to be read.

KITA (Korea International Trade Association) has contributed to economic development and global trade in South Korea since its founding in 1946. It is committed to establishing Korea as a global trade location and supports Korean companies in international cooperation, reports KITA.

So you can see that the topics of education and business are closely intertwined and have a wide variety of facets. Daycare centers like the one in Leipzig-Grünau rely on innovative approaches, while the wine industry is facing changes and challenges. The future remains exciting - whether for the little ones in daycare or the big entrepreneurs in the wine industry.
