Ole Werner changes to RB Leipzig - million deals shortly before completion!
Leipzig, Deutschland - After long negotiations, SV Werder Bremen and RB Leipzig have finally reached an agreement on the change of coach Ole Werner. As reports Deichstube, the official confirmation of the transfers is just before. The last contractual details are to be clarified at the weekend before Werner signs a two-year contract with his new club.
The change of coach does not come as a surprise after Werder Bremen separated from Werner at the end of May, since he did not want to extend his contract by 2026. Werner, who had been with Werder since November 2021, had previously started his career at Holstein Kiel. He will approach his new challenge at RB Leipzig in the coming season.
Details for the transfer fee
originally called for Werder Bremen a transfer fee of six million euros, but such as t-online reported their ideas about the prize adjusted. RB Leipzig initially only wanted to pay three million euros. Ultimately, the clubs agreed on a transfer fee between two and three million euros, and possible bonus payments could still improve the overall package.
The negotiations were lengthy, but both sides ultimately found a compromise. Since the trio, consisting of Ole Werner and the co-trainers Patrick Kohlmann and Tim Cichon, will move to Leipzig, Werder Bremen saves about 2.5 million euros in salary costs.
outlook on the new season
RB Leipzig is already planning for the new season, which is heralded with the training start on July 14th. Zsolt Löw had acted as an interim coach until the end of the season after Marco Rose was released. Ole Werner, who has made a name for himself in the league, will now take on the task of getting the team back on track.
The change of coaches in the Bundesliga are still a hot topic. There is an overview of further coaching changes at [Transfermarkt] (https://www.transfermarkt.de/bundesliga/trainer change/wettbewertb/l1/).
