Construction site final spurt in Meißen: These streets will soon be free!
Something is happening on the streets in Meißen: Next week, five construction sites will close their doors. The city's road traffic authority announced this in a recent press release. This is good news for everyone moving through the city, as the restrictions are anything but pleasant.
The construction work on the Steinweg, which is being carried out by Strabag, ends on July 24th. The road here has been partially closed since the beginning of July while work was being done on the drinking water pipe. This important part of the city center will soon be accessible to pedestrians again. Work on the Telekom network on Boselweg is also making rapid progress. The provider GDMcom Bau GmbH plans to complete its work on July 25th after the path has been partially closed since June 25th.
Completion of small projects
Another reason to be happy is the renovation work by Rotzsch Fugensanierung und Baumdienst GmbH, which is working on three smaller construction sites on Bockwener Weg, Goldgrund and Siebeneichener Kirschberg until July 22nd. These construction sites are part of the broadband deployment and have also led to certain traffic restrictions.
But that's not all. The city will continue to face restrictions after these construction sites are closed. There has been a partial closure on August-Bebel-Straße from April 22nd to October 10th due to renovation work. Bergstrasse will remain closed until October 6th due to a complete closure for new construction work and sewer renovation.

There is no end to the construction work in sight, but at least once the above-mentioned projects have been completed, traffic in the city will be a little smoother again. Until then, it’s a matter of demanding and encouraging – with patience and understanding. After all, all construction projects lead to a positive development for the city at some point.
