In Meissen it has that Hotel Burgblick reopened in mid-May after a long dry spell. The popularity in the area helped overcome the initial challenges. The owner Annett Földi-Jäpelt is pleased to report that the hotel has been running well for two weeks and 19 rooms are already well occupied. From the charming beer garden you also have a wonderful view of the Albrechtsburg, which is particularly enjoyable when the weather is nice.
The original plan was to open on April 13th, but construction delays forced the event to be postponed until May 17th. But the bad luck wasn't over yet. After going online on Booking.com, the hotel was surprisingly blocked a day later. The situation was tense because the old tenant left the hotel in a dilapidated state, including outstanding bills with municipal utilities and Booking.com.
A new beginning
The hotel was empty more than a year ago after the previous operators threw in the towel in December 2023. Földi-Jäpelt's team has extensively renovated the property and is now ready to welcome guests. The beer garden is open from Thursday to Sunday, although individual opening times are also possible upon request.
The Hotel Burgblick aims to cover costs within the next two to three months and thus contribute to revitalizing the local hospitality industry. Residents and visitors can look forward to a fresh ambience and special culinary offerings.
The surrounding area of the city of Meißen has much to offer, including the baroque old town of Dresden and the vineyards characterized by the natural beauty of Saxony.
