Art and gardens: Radebeul invites you to a creative weekend!
On the last weekend in June, art and garden lovers can enjoy a very special experience in Radebeul. How diesachsen.de reports, the gardens of the city between the city limits of Dresden and Coswig invite you to discover them in a new light. This event not only offers the opportunity to experience the beauty of the gardens, but also to admire the impressive combination of art and nature.
New to the event list are the HellerKunstRaum in Radebeul-Ost, the Besenwirtschaft “Genussbutze” in Radebeul-West and the Hotel Villa Sorgenfrei with its attractive gardens. Here artists will present their works and show visitors the diversity of their creativity. As visitors move through the gardens, wandering musicians will provide a musical accompaniment, bringing the experience even more to life.
A thank you to the community
The city administration of Radebeul would like to expressly thank all the garden owners, artists and musicians who contribute to this cultural highlight. The project is actively supported by the Meißen-Saxon Switzerland-Eastern Ore Mountains cultural area, which is also responsible for promoting numerous regional cultural initiatives. As part of the Saxon Cultural Area Act Comprehensive support for cultural institutions and measures is guaranteed here, which is of fundamental importance for rural cultural areas.
The Saxon Cultural Area Act, which has been in force since January 1, 2023, lays down the basic pillars for the promotion of cultural activities and the preservation of cultural institutions in Saxony. A total of eight rural and three urban cultural areas were created, including the Meißen-Saxon Switzerland-Eastern Ore Mountains cultural area, which makes the implementation of regional cultural projects like this event possible.
Overview of the cultural areas
These are the following rural cultural areas:
- Vogtland
- Zwickauer Raum
- Erzgebirge
- Mittelsachsen
- Leipziger Raum
- Meißen
- Sächsische Schweiz / Osterzgebirge
- Niederlausitz-Oberschlesien
The urban cultural areas include:
- Chemnitz
- Dresden
- Leipzig
The Meißen – Saxon Switzerland-Eastern Ore Mountains cultural area association has set itself the task of promoting regionally important cultural institutions and supporting those responsible for municipal cultural work with financing and coordination. This is achieved by providing at least 94.7 million euros annually for cultural preservation. This commitment ensures the continued existence of the cultural infrastructure and is a true gift for the region.
In Radebeul, nature and art combine to create a feast for the senses, and supporting the cultural area plays a central role in this. Anyone who is interested in art and gardens should definitely not miss this highlight!
