June 28, 2025 marked a special day in the history of the Wilhelm Schneller Elementary School in Kalkreuth. The long-time headmaster Friedrich Brunnert, who led the school's fortunes for over 33 years, was ceremoniously retired. The emotional ceremony took place in the school gymnasium as part of a festive end-of-year event. Students and teachers released numerous balloons, signaling a new beginning for Brunnert and the school.
Ebersbach's mayor Falk Hentschel insisted on giving a speech in honor of Brunnert. He praised the principal's achievements and spoke about the importance of the school to the community.
