Meißen, Deutschland - On June 26, 2025, an exciting day for the Meißen volunteer fire brigade, because Mayor Olaf Raschke ceremoniously handed over a new medium -sized fire truck (MLF 42/1). When handing over to Meißen, you could feel how important this modern vehicle is for the fire brigade and the entire community. Raschke emphasized the importance of investing in the security and protection of citizens.
The new MLF impresses with its compact design, which enables the fire brigade to easily navigate through narrow streets and historical castle gates. Such properties are essential for the fire brigade in a city with such a rich history. The vehicle is operated by a full extinguishing group consisting of nine comrades and is designed to provide quick and efficient help.
technical highlights of the new MLF
The technical data of the new middle fire engine are impressive. With an engine output of 250 hp and a total weight of 10 tons, the vehicle can not only act strongly, but also agile. An automatic gearbox ensures easy handling for operations. The dimensions of the vehicle amount to 6.50 meters in length, 2.35 meters in width and 2.78 meters in height, which makes it ideal for urban use.
The MLF is equipped with a 1,000 liter water tank and offers numerous features that are essential for fire inserts. These include:

The vehicle was developed according to the standard of the DIN 14530 standard, which describes various extinguishing vehicles in Germany. The MLF occupies a central position between the load-bearing peaked vehicle water (TSF-W) and the extinguishing group vehicle (LF 10), which means that it is often the perfect choice for operations in which both types would not be sufficient or oversized. After the official handover, there were congratulations from representatives of the company fire brigade of the state porcelain factory in Meißen and the deputy district fire chief, who underlined the importance of the new vehicle for cooperation in the region. The Meißen volunteer fire brigade also had a first assignment, was called to open a door, but fortunately could not work. So there was enough time to end the evening in a convivial atmosphere with a barbecue together - a great opportunity to come together as a team and to celebrate the new vehicle in future missions.
