Meißen presents the city's first hand-painted selfie point!

A touch of creativity blows through Meißen-the city inaugurated its first hand-painted selfie point. Mayor Olaf Raschke presented the latest attraction on Thursday, a colorful "Meissen" lettering that found its place on the market square. The project, which has already met with great interest from locals and tourists, was created to cover the increasing need for impressive photo motifs in the city. "It's a bit," says Raschke, who describes the initiative for selfie-point as an effective marketing tool for the city.

The letters of the lettering, which are proud 1.20 meters high, were designed by talented artists from the Meißner art scene. Designer Olaf Fieber has made a significant contribution to the artistic implementation, supported by other creatives such as Jana Pommer-Semper and Bart Lefebure. The motifs that adorn the letters range from a magnificent image of King Henry I to referrals to the porcelain block play of the Frauenkirche and the Japanese twin town of Arita. This not only tells the photo motif as an experience, but also a piece of Meißner story.

In autumn, the creative lettering will move from its location on the marketplace to the picturesque vineyards. Here, surrounded by the gentle hills and with the castle mountain in the background, it will enable even more impressive pictures. The selfie point is designed transportable so that it can be placed flexibly in different locations-a dazzling photo motif that will provide many snapshots before the upcoming wine festival.

The total cost of the project amounts to around 6,500 euros. This financing comes from guest taxes and means of city marketing. Meißen is not only a city with a rich history and cultural heritage, but is now also becoming an attraction for all those who want to cause a stir with an original selfie on social media.
