New advice centers for victims of sexual violence in Radebeul!
From November 2025 there will be an important innovation in Dresden and the Meißen district: two specialized advice centers for those affected by sexual violence will be opened. The Saxon Ministry of Social Affairs announced this news on Friday, opening another chapter in Saxony's help network. This is intended to provide urgently needed support for those affected who often have to deal with their distress alone.
How diesachsen.de reports, the Free State of Saxony will promote the expansion of specialized advice centers in all districts and independent cities with a funding volume of around one million euros. According to Equal Opportunities Minister Petra Köpping, the background is the significant need for action, as revealed by a dark field study. This shows that 96% of the 1,341 women surveyed have experienced sexual harassment and 30% report rape.
Details about the new contact points
The new advice centers are being created in cooperation with the organizations Women for Women e.V. and the Social Service of Catholic Women e.V. in Berlin. The specialist advice center in Dresden is operated under the name “sowiesoKulturberatung Bildung” and is located at Angelikastraße 10. The contact details are straightforward:
- Telefon: 0351 804 14 70
- E-Mail: beratung@frauen-ev-sowieso.de
In the Meißen district, the advice center of the Social Service for Catholic Women e.V. will be located at Dr.-Külz-Straße 40. Those affected can also seek support here:
- Telefon: 0351 7955 2205
- E-Mail: beratung@skf-radebeul.de
Comprehensive offers of help in Saxony
The Free State's commitment to protecting against violence is considerable. In 2025, a total of 13.9 million euros are earmarked to promote equal opportunities and the protection of women. Numerous other advisory services already exist, such as the anonymous girls' refuge in Dresden, which is available to girls and young women around the clock. If necessary, help can be obtained here by calling (+49) (0)351-2 51 99 88. The “Wildwasser” advice center in Chemnitz and the KARO e.V. refuge in Plauen are also available to help those affected.
The news about the new advice centers is not only important in Radebeul, but has the potential to strengthen the entire Saxony region. The new offerings close an important gap in providing those affected by sexualized violence with the necessary support and resources. It remains to be hoped that these initiatives will trigger the urgently needed change in society's perception and approach to this sensitive issue.
