A sunny weekend is coming up and Dresden has several highlights to offer! With temperatures up to 30 degrees, the city invites you to attend the numerous events. This is particularly eye-catching Elbe slope festival, which this year takes place on the last weekend in June – more precisely on Saturday and Sunday. Along a seven-kilometer route between Loschwitz and Pillnitz, visitors can choose from around 200 offers. From concerts to theater performances to culinary delights, everything is there.
This year's motto "Faith and the Grape - 300 Years of the Vineyard Church" promises special insights into the history of the region. The festivities are spread across five former village centers and the beautiful gardens and vineyards in the surrounding area. Entry to the Elbhangfest is free, only the Pillnitz Castle Park charges a small entrance fee of 8 euros.
A diverse program awaits festival visitors
The Elbhangfest offers a colorful mix of art and community festivals. In addition to musical performances from flute to rock, the program also includes numerous readings and dance events. There are special children's offers for the younger ones. So, among other things, it becomes one“Altloschwitz promenade”which extends from the ElbeGarten to the wine village in the park at the Schillerschule. Market stalls showcase local crafts, while culinary stalls offer numerous local delicacies.
The diversity is complemented by other activities: guided tours and lectures provide insights into the stories of the region. In addition, young artists present modern contemporary works, entirely in the spirit of innovation and creativity.
The neighborhood also has a lot to offer
But the Elbhangfest is not the only event the weekend has to offer. The Lauenstein regional market, which takes place on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Lauenstein castle courtyard, promises fresh products: fruit, vegetables, sausage and cheese specialties as well as delicious jams and juices can be purchased here. Entry is free.
The famous one also invites you on Saturday Malle Mania Festival on the racecourse. From 12 p.m. the square turns into a party highlight with well-known artists such as Carolina and Mütze Katz. The tickets cost 39.95 euros and promise eight hours of great atmosphere.
Other events include Adventure tour in Meißen, which will focus on the secret laboratory of the Albrechtsburg on Saturday from 11 a.m., and theFlea marketin Dresden, which invites you to browse both at the Käthe-Kollwitz-Ufer and at the Haus der Presse.
