Today, July 2, 2025, the fire department has been fighting a forest fire in Gohrischheide in the Meißen district since Tuesday afternoon. The fire spread to a former military training area, in the immediate vicinity of an explosive ordnance disposal service blast site. In view of the dangers and the current fire situation, the railway line between Riesa and Falkenberg remains closed as a precautionary measure, so that there is no train traffic apart from freight trains.
