Wine festival in Nossen: fairytale parade and historical bicycle races await you!

In Nossen, the first weekend in September is all about wine - even if the city is not traditionally known as a wine town. As the Saxon newspaper reports, the annual wine festival on September 5th and 6th has long since become an integral part of the events calendar.

The festival begins on Friday at 6 p.m. when the marching band parades ceremoniously through Waldheimer Straße. There is a special attraction for the children this year: a fairy tale parade where they can fill out pieces of paper and write down fairy tales they recognize. Anyone who participates diligently has the chance to win great prizes!

Real moments of pleasure

But the wine festival doesn't just offer a colorful children's program. In the evenings there is rocking when various bands on stage heat up the atmosphere. A special highlight is the race with historical bicycles, which is sure to amaze visitors.

Another offer that wine lovers should not miss is an exclusive wine tour in the Altzella Monastery Park. On August 18th at 3 p.m., Björn Probst, the manager of the Schloss Proschwitz – Prinz zur Lippe winery, will lead a tour of the romantic landscape park. Participants can look forward to exciting insights into the history of monastic viticulture as well as tastings of fine Saxon wines. For 25 euros per person, guests not only receive the champagne reception, but also three wine tastings. Further information and tickets are available via sachsen-net.com available.

A journey into the past

The wine tradition in Nossen goes back to the monks who grew vines in the Altzella monastery. This historical connection to viticulture gives the festival a very special charm and shows that wine in Nossen is more than just a drink - it is a piece of quality of life.

So if you don't have any plans for the first weekend in September, you should head to Nossen. An exciting festival full of enjoyment, music and stories awaits you here!
