Döbeln celebrates 30 years of acrobatics: great gymnastics show in the theater!

On November 11, 2025, a very special event was celebrated in Döbeln: the 30th anniversary of the Döbelner SC sports acrobats. A gymnastics show in the Döbelner Theater captivated numerous spectators. This festival was made possible, among other things, by the generous support of the Döbeln public utility company, which contributed a donation and thereby honored the commitment of the local associations. What is particularly noteworthy is that around 30 children and young people showed their skills on stage and thrilled the audience with impressive performances.

Of course, a bit of culinary delights is a must at a party. The municipal utility employees threw themselves behind the stalls and offered home-baked cakes, hot dogs and refreshing drinks. The proceeds from these delicacies were impressive: an impressive 1,100 euros were collected, which will now be donated equally to the sports acrobats of Döbelner SC and the Christian school association in Technitz. Simone Friedrich, the authorized representative of the municipal utilities, handed over the symbolic donation check during the acrobats' training, which gave the event a special and personal touch.

A family celebration for everyone

The gymnastics exhibition was also part of a traditional children's and family festival that took place on the city festival Saturday. There was great joy and, in the brilliant weather, you could literally feel how the community was growing together. The 30 girls between the ages of five and 17, who had rehearsed their exercise in the sports hall of the primary school in Döbeln Ost, also impressively demonstrated their future talents.

Another highlight will be the planned Christmas gymnastics show on November 23rd, which will take place as part of the celebrations for the acrobats' 30th anniversary. An opportunity that the local sports community will certainly not miss.

The role of municipal utilities in the energy transition

Stadtwerke Döbeln is not only a sponsor of sport, but also bears responsibility in a much larger context: the energy transition. In Germany, climate policy pressure is higher than ever before. Municipal utilities play a central role in driving decarbonization and switching to renewable energies. Handelsblatt reports that municipal utilities must develop comprehensive transformation plans in order to meet legal requirements. These teams analyze existing systems and develop concepts for modernization.

The energy transition strategy for many municipal utilities is like this Munich public utilities a fundamental business that brings with it both technical and economic challenges. The systems must not only be efficient, but also reliable in order to ensure security of supply. The aim is to convert the heat supply completely to renewable energies by 2040.

The municipal utilities are therefore not only important for their immediate surroundings, but also have to look into the future and find innovative solutions in order to work in a climate- and environmentally friendly manner. In this way they show that they have a good knack for the needs of the community and are an integral part of change in our society.
