Christian Skobowsky worked as cathedral cantor in Freiberg from 2002 to 2007 and was the director of the New Bach Society's Bach Festival in 2008. He received his training in Dresden and Halle, where he studied church music and specialized in historical organ repertoires. “It’s a return to the roots,” said Skobowsky in an interview, emphasizing the special meaning of the Silbermann organs for him.
