On Monday evening, the Flöha volunteer fire department and numerous emergency services were deployed to the Fritzenhof senior care home in the “Am Sattelgut” residential area. But this time it wasn't a real emergency, but rather a well-organized exercise that served to train and prepare for emergencies. Time for realistic training scenarios
A goal of these exercises that should not be underestimated is to give nursing home employees the security they need to be able to react confidently in an emergency. Mayor Volker Holuscha personally took a look at the exercise on site and was impressed by the professional approach. The Flöha volunteer fire department has already been deployed 78 times this year, which illustrates the high level of activity and commitment of the volunteers.
The importance of such exercises is also repeatedly emphasized in other institutions. Similar training sessions took place at the Caritas St. Vinzenz retirement and nursing home in Wallersdorf. Among other things, an evacuation rescue using the turntable ladder was practiced there, despite the rainy weather. Facility manager Sieglinde Schröck emphasizes the importance of such exercises in the event of an emergency. Regular training is crucial for safety and smooth operations in everyday care facilities.
