Two vehicles from the Hainichen fire brigade and three ambulances are on site. A rescue helicopter has also arrived at the scene of the accident to provide help as quickly as possible. The entire directional lane is currently completely closed, which leads to considerable traffic disruptions. For the coming hours, drivers should be prepared for diversions, while the emergency services are trying to control the situation.

But the A4 was not only the focus in Saxony. In Thuringia there was a serious danger of dangerous goods between Nohra and the Erfurt-Vieselbach junction on Monday, which also caused longer closures. A truck that was loaded with alkyl sulfonic acid got out of control due to aquaplaning on a rain wet road and crashed into the middle course plank. In addition to the serious accident of a truck driver, which had to be flown to the hospital with serious injuries, part of the caustic load flocked out and caused a danger zone with a radius of 500 meters. Numerous fire brigades from Erfurt, Weimar and the Weimarer Land were deployed there to pump out the dangerous fabric and to reduce intact containers. The A4 remained closed for a long time after the accident, the traffic situation is also tense there.
