Partzsch Elektromotoren in Döbeln: Training as a key to combating the shortage of skilled workers!
Partzsch Elektromotoren GmbH in Döbeln recently received the Walter Hartwig Prize from the Chemnitz Chamber of Crafts as an outstanding training company. The company, which employs around 350 people in Döbeln and over 500 across the entire group, shows a remarkable commitment to training young people. Since managing director Christian Partzsch expects 30 age-related departures in the near future, the focus is currently less on finding new employees and more on development and training. A real pioneering company!
There are already 18 trainees in the company in the current training year, and the chances of being taken on after training are 100 percent. The Chemnitz Chamber of Crafts has 2,194 newly registered apprenticeships, including 467 with female trainees. This corresponds to an increase of 8.94 percent compared to the previous year. The region also has 553 training companies that concluded a total of 805 newly registered training contracts by the end of September. This shows that the training landscape is developing dynamically and is actively addressing the need for skilled workers.
Innovative training approaches
A fundamental part of the success of Partzsch Elektromotoren GmbH lies in the innovative training approaches. Instructor Danilo Grießbach and his team design motor winding models to offer trainees practical experience. The company is also actively involved in schools by offering physics lessons and project days. This will certainly awaken the students' interest in technical careers at an early stage.
In addition, the trainees are involved in social media advertising in order to prominently present the company and the training offers. This not only brings a breath of fresh air to the recruiting strategy, but also actively involves young people in communication. As part of individual funding, welcome bonuses as well as support with driving licenses and mobility are even offered, which makes the entire package very attractive for potential trainees.
Market for training places
The demand for suitable trainees is high in the region. There are currently around 550 open training positions in the Chamber of Crafts apprenticeship exchange, with professions such as electronics technician, plant mechanic and automotive mechatronics technician being particularly in demand. Dr. Olaf Richter from the Chamber of Crafts appeals to make the modernity of crafts more visible and to address the target group - the students - at an early stage.
Another step towards combating the shortage of skilled workers is the introduction of new training occupations. The company offers training to become an electrical appliance specialist, which serves as an entry-level opportunity in electric motor construction. This could be an important building block in addressing the existing “mismatch” between training offerings and the number of applicants that the Central Saxony district is currently experiencing.
Partzsch Elektromotoren GmbH will also take part in this year's German Training Management Congress (DALK) 2025. A team of training experts will be on site there, and CEO Felix will give a lecture on the azubi.report 2025. The event represents the largest platform for those responsible for training in Germany, with a focus on topics such as finding, supporting and leading.
The DALK also offers opportunities for networking, practical impulses and inspiring discussions, which can be of great value for the company and the entire industry. Those interested should contact their contact person at Studium.de, as discounted tickets are available.
