Winter market premiere in the Buch monastery: fashion, music and magic for families!

On November 2nd, 2025, the winter market in Buch Monastery celebrated a successful debut that captivated visitors. Marion Tukaj from Waldheim was one of the first to visit the colorful stands and was amazed at the decorative items she made herself. With around 40 stands, including ten culinary offerings, there was something for everyone. The event was organized by Rica Zirnsack, project coordinator, and Susan Ranft from the fashion store “Soultrip Fashion”, who initiated the market about eight months ago. Your goal? To create a lively network and support for regional retailers, clubs and creative minds.

Another highlight of the market was the planned family tradition. Visitors were able to visit the craft room, where 15 lanterns were made by children and parents on Saturday afternoon. Craftsmen such as master wood turner Claudia Behnisch and yarn spinner Doreen Böhme demonstrated their craftsmanship in demonstration workshops. There was an exciting offer for the little ones in the outdoor area: traditional archery with self-made bows.

Fashion show delights the guests

The highlight of the market was undoubtedly the fashion show, where 27 models presented Soultrip Fashion's latest fall and winter collections. This took place in the inner courtyard of the historic monastery and was humorously led by radio presenter Thomas Böttcher. A special anniversary was also celebrated: the 20th anniversary of the fashion store “Soultrip Fashion”. The “Dresden Pipes & Drums” bagpipe orchestra created a festive atmosphere during a break that put the visitors in a festive mood.

Family activities continued lively on Sunday. Chainsaw carving was particularly popular with visitors both young and old. The Döbelner Dance Company also presented its skills and rounded off the offering with an exciting lantern parade, organized in collaboration with the fire department.

The winter market in Buch Monastery not only impressed with its diverse program, it should also be established as a new tradition in the town. The creators show a good knack for an event that brings people together and celebrates local talent. This makes it clear: next time even more visitors will definitely want to be part of the winter magic!

Media reminders of such events are also important in order to promote local networking. How Sächsische.de reports, the market not only attracts locals, but also creates a platform to support the creative regional economy.

In a world that often seems hectic, it's good to have such fixed points of contact in the annual calendar that give joy and creativity. We are already looking forward to the next opportunities to enjoy the unique atmosphere of Buch Monastery and to experience the local culture in this way.
