The Laas eG agricultural cooperative, based in Liebschützberg, was founded in 1991 and manages an impressive area of 1,825 hectares. 357 dairy cows and 348 calves and young cattle are kept here in a sustainable manner for breeding. In addition to the production of milk and meat, the company also offers services such as milk tapping, agricultural trading and a car repair shop. The entire team of the cooperative, consisting of 23 dedicated employees, constantly strives to ensure the regionality and freshness of the products, which they see as a great advantage of their work.
A look behind the scenes
Corinna Winkler's working day starts early. At 6:30 a.m. she prepares her sales vehicle with fresh produce before setting off. The tours lead through the Dahlener Heide, the Oschatzer Land and beyond, and include several stops. It is particularly appreciated that the sales vehicles are not only places for shopping, but also social meeting places for the villagers. Customers are kindly informed of their arrival by the vehicle's bell ringing.
“I know my customers well and offer personal support,” says Winkler. This close customer relationship contributes to the products being highly popular. At regular stops, the provision of fresh goods and individual approach are key success factors. The driver has already gained a lot of experience in her career, including unexpected emergencies during tours. The return to Lasa around 3:30 p.m. is the culmination of the working day, where the vehicle is unloaded and cleaned.
