Oschatz is preparing for a festive evening, as the fourth Sports Ball will take place in the Müntzer House on November 15th. This time the focus is on the athletes and teams of 2025, with the jury having already made its decisions, which, however, remain top secret. Bernd Schmidt, the chairman of SV Progress Oschatz and organizer of the event for over a decade, is confident that the event will become another highlight of the Oschatz sports landscape. All tickets have already been sold, which is a clear sign of the great interest in this event that the local sports community celebrates. On the evening of the athletes' ball, guests can expect not only the awarding of attractive prizes, including a special prize from the mayor of Oschatz, but also a sporting and entertainment program as well as a delicious buffet, which is included in the admission price. Nevertheless, it will be difficult to attract clubs from outside to the event, as Bernd Schmidt notes. The revival of the sports ball in the 1990s was a joint project by four Oschatz clubs that has now firmly established itself in the event calendar. It is noteworthy that the event is only held every two years and could not take place last year due to the gliding championship in Oschatz.
