Bannewitz: New leisure attraction with BattleKart from 2024!

Big things are happening in Bannewitz, just a stone's throw from Dresden! Thomas Brunner, a creative mind with an impressive background in the ophthalmic laser industry, will lead the fortunes of a new leisure attraction from spring 2024. The first structures for an innovative leisure center are currently being built on the site of a former cattle stable. Here, visitors can look forward to a driving experience with electric vehicles that takes them through an exciting virtual environment. The fun should last about 15 minutes and will be surrounded by a 2,000 square meter hall, which, in addition to numerous attractions, will also offer a reception area, toilets, a minibar and meeting rooms.

The project already has a clear sum in mind: around 850,000 euros will be invested in the new attraction, and the groundbreaking is scheduled for summer 2023. Planning is well underway and the community, including the community and local councils, are fully behind the project. Mayor Heiko Wersig was particularly enthusiastic after a visit to a similar BattleKart hall in Bispingen.

Entry into karting fun

The idea for the new leisure attraction in Bannewitz did not come by chance. Brunner, who had positive experiences in a BattleKart hall in the past, was inspired by his contact with investor Jens-Peter Sachau. Sachau, who already runs a BattleKart leisure center and is also planning nationwide expansion, sees great potential in this project.

In addition to Brunner's efforts, other companies, including DHL and Gut Leben gGmbH, are also interested in developing additional halls on the site. René Böhme, another participant in this project, is still looking for possible users for the new premises. This means that the leisure activities in Bannewitz are expected to become even more comprehensive and diverse.

Changing leisure behavior

The importance of such leisure activities is shown not least in the context of the current leisure behavior of Germans. According to an analysis of leisure behavior in Germany, we are also feeling the aftereffects of the corona pandemic in the way people spend their free time. Many are looking for ways to spend their free time actively and entertainingly and are experiencing new trends in sports, culture and media. The new attraction in Bannewitz fits this picture perfectly and could offer an exciting opportunity to relax and have fun in different ways.

So it remains exciting to see how the project will develop and what new leisure opportunities will soon enrich the region. With a good hand and a clear concept, things could soon become truly lively on the outskirts of Dresden.
