New Timberjacks in Bannewitz is delayed - here's how you can help!

A new experience restaurant is waiting to open in Bannewitz – Timberjacks. Originally planned for the end of 2023, the opening will now be postponed to the beginning of 2026. The reason is the insolvency of a kitchen construction company and the associated delays in the construction phase. Mayor Wersig announced that the final touches are now being completed for the new restaurant on the B170, below the Simmel Center, before the doors can be opened to hungry guests. Sächsische.de reports that Timberjacks will be built in American style. With a log cabin, bull riding and a large LED wall, it promises a real experience.

Another highlight is the planned offer of live music and the opportunity to relax by the fireplace. Originally, a larger restaurant and a hotel were integrated into the concept, but increased construction costs led to the hotel being canceled. This reduced the restaurant's capacity from 500 to 370 seats. The construction work uses an innovative building material from Saxony-Anhalt that is environmentally friendly and does not produce any carbon dioxide during production. Fancy Dresden adds that waste such as ash and slag are also used to produce the material, further reducing the ecological footprint.

Solidarity after fire tragedy

While the anticipation for the new restaurant is growing, there is also sad news from the surrounding area. A homeowner from Niederottendorf lost his home and all of his possessions in a fire last weekend. This has sparked a wave of solidarity and several fundraising campaigns have been launched to help the affected person. The response to these actions was greater than expected, showing how important community support is in times of crisis. The neighbors and friends show that no one is alone, even in difficult times. Sächsische.de highlights that numerous actions have been initiated to show solidarity with the fire victim.

Eating habits and restaurant visits

Amid these developments, the question remains how often Cologne residents will eat out and what new flavors they will try once Timberjacks opens. ITESLJ provides some food for thought on typical questions that may arise when visiting a restaurant. Many will be looking forward to discovering traditional Western dishes or international delicacies in the new restaurant. Selected dishes together, special Saxon specialties or perhaps a classic buffet? The anticipation of food and social gatherings is palpable among the population.
