Power shutdown in Altenberg spa area: clinic temporarily closed!

In Altenberg, more precisely in the Johannesbad Specialist Clinic & Raupennest Health Center, work on the energy supply will soon be underway. As a result, the popular swimming area will remain closed to the public for two days. The closure will affect Tuesday, October 21st and Thursday, October 23rd, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. The clinic will not be reachable by phone during this time, reports Sächsische.de.

The safety of patients is well guaranteed even during the power shutdown. After the power supply is restored, all facilities and communication channels should be available again as normal. For many locals and visitors, the spa area in the Raupennest is a popular destination to relax and keep fit.

An oasis of relaxation

The swimming area in the caterpillar's nest offers an extensive selection of pools. Here, visitors can choose from seven different pools, including a swimming and group exercise pool as well as an exercise pool, which is also used for therapy treatments. There are also special pools such as the medical flow channel, which can only be used under the supervision of therapists, and a whirlpool for soothing relaxation.

The clinic is one of the recognized healthcare facilities that is characterized by a wide range of services. It is therefore amalgamated into the larger context of the hospital landscape in Germany, where there will be a total of 1,874 hospitals with 476,924 beds in 2023, according to information from healthy.bund.de show.

The planned closures are part of a necessary process to improve the infrastructure and supply, which is pending in many places in Germany. In this way, the clinics increase their performance and safety. The aim of such reforms is to clearly assign all clinics to the different levels of care and to optimize patient care.
