Telekom is expanding mobile network: 98% supply in the district reached!

In the district of Saxon Switzerland-Eastern Mountains there is good news for all mobile phone users! Deutsche Telekom has further improved its service and put two new antenna locations into operation in Dippoldiswalde and Pirna. This initiative not only brought an expansion of the infrastructure, but also an increase in mobile phone supply to an impressive 98 percent in the region, such as Sächsische.

But that was not all: in three other cases, mobile communications are also expanded, so that Telekom now operates a total of 133 transmission masts in the district. The demand for bandwidth grows continuously - by around 30 percent annually. In order to meet this challenge, the company has ambitious plans: In the next three years, a further 45 locations and 64 existing mobile phone locations with modern technologies such as LTE and 5G should be expanded, as well as press portal emphasized.

collaboration with municipalities

One of the prerequisites for future expansion is close cooperation with municipalities and property owners. Telekom is actively working to rent space for new locations, whereby landlords can benefit from a long -term, local rent. These partnerships are crucial for the implementation of the expansion plans to further optimize and expand the network.

The German radio tower is responsible for the construction of the new mobile phone locations and ensures that the technology remains up to date. In total, Telekom operates around 36,000 mobile radio locations across Germany and is viewed as a provider with the best mobile network. Important emergency call technologies such as Advanced Mobile Location (AML) also support the extended mobile phone locations. In an emergency, this technology automatically transmits the location of the caller to the rescue control center.

technological progress for all

Another important aspect is the warning system Cell Broadcast, which sends hazard reports to mobile phones in the affected radio cells. This significantly improves security and emergency communication and offers citizens additional security. For more information on mobile phone supply in Germany, users can use the interactive mobile phone card of the Federal Network Agency. This provides current information on mobile phone standards such as 2G, 4G and 5G and enables users to report radio holes.
