The Wilsdruff radio tower association has big plans for the future in Wilsdruff. After the eye-catching giant antenna was demolished in August 2021, the association would like to develop the area into a real visitor magnet. “There’s something going on,” says club chairwoman Sabine Neumann. She has presented impressive initiatives to ensure that the new landmark not only remains a reminder of the old antenna, but also becomes a real attraction for tourists and locals.

The antenna, which served as the region's landmark for many years, was torn down last year, but the radio tower association's vision lives on. “We want our new landmark to have a new character and attract people here,” Neumann continued. In the future, signposts will show the way to this new landmark and thus increase the tourist attractiveness of Wilsdruff.

New landmark for Wilsdruff

Over the course of this year, the radio tower association has already made some progress and is proudly presenting the plans for the development and design of the new landmark. Visitors should not only be able to find out about the history of the giant antenna, but also experience very specific experiences and activities.

“We want to create something that inspires people and invites them to linger,” emphasizes Neumann. The hope is that not only locals but also many tourists traveling along the A4 will stop and be inspired by the new attraction. The radio tower association seems to have a good knack for making this vision a reality.

A look into the future

The club has ambitious plans, and the fact that they are approaching the matter with the right amount of enthusiasm gives many Wilsdruffers hope. The new landmark could become an important building block for the development of the region and, last but not least, strengthen the sense of community among the residents. It remains exciting to see how the concept will develop further in the coming months.

One example is the author's consideration of integrating characters from popular series such as “Fate” and “PMMM” into future stories, in which the well-known devil Rias Gremory also plays a central role. The authors of these stories show great interest in experimenting with different narrative styles, with the writing style being described as “weird”. Such creative approaches always lead to new, innovative ideas that captivate the audience.
