Solidarity Pirna wins the Saxon Democracy Prize 2025!
The Saxon Promotion Prize for Democracy 2025 will be awarded to the Solidarity Pirna Initiative. Since its founding at the end of 2023, this remarkable group has set itself the goal of making diversity visible and countering misanthropic positions. What is particularly noteworthy is that despite a difficult political climate and little support from the city, impressive successes were achieved. The prize is endowed with 5,000 euros and is awarded for commitment to promoting democratic culture, human rights and against discrimination. In addition to Solidarity Pirna, the city of Zwickau was also recognized as a “Municipality of Democracy”.
