In Vogtland, the strength of shared coexistence is once again demonstrated when people sacrifice their time and energy for others. This year's volunteer gala took place on October 25, 2025 in the Royal Kurhaus Bad Elster, under the motto “Standing Together”. The event honored the great achievements of 18 committed citizens who are active in various areas of volunteer work. What makes volunteering so special? Many people get involved out of a deep conviction that they want to do something good. Whether in the volunteer fire department, in animal protection or in youth work - volunteer work is diverse and not only brings benefits for society, but also for the volunteers themselves. German volunteer work describes how such activities are often free of charge, but still have immense importance for the common good.
A festive gala full of highlights
The evening event offered a noble program: In addition to musical performances and shows, a delicious three-course menu awaited the guests. Silence Fischer and Ingo Dubinski skilfully led the evening as moderators. The winners were honored in various categories for their outstanding contributions to volunteer work. The awards covered a wide spectrum - from sport to environmental and monument protection to social programs.

The award winners in the individual categories show the diversity of the commitment in the region. Here are some of the honored volunteers:
- Sport: Sabine Guse (SG 1880 Reuth e.V.), Reinhard Körner (VSV Eintracht Klingenthal e.V.) und Alexander Horn (LSG Auerbach/Vogtl. e.V.)
- Umwelt-, Tier- und Denkmalschutz: Ines Pfeiffer (Tierschutzverein Ellefeld und Umgebung e.V.), Marina Gerstner (NABU Sachsen Mitbegründerin), Hartwig Keil (Wanderwegewart)
- Kultur: Ursula Klebert (Förderverein Leubnitzer Schloss e.V.), Kerstin Weinper (Orts- und Heimatpflege Schöneck) und Wolfgang Jäckel (Marinekameradschaft Plauen/Vogtland 1899 e.V.)
- Ordnung und Sicherheit: Stephan Vey (Kriseninterventionsteam Vogtlandkreis), Manfred Hofmann (Feuerwehr Adorf), Dietmar Schneider (Feuerwehr Elsterberg)
- Jugendarbeit: Jeanette Breitsprecher (Tanzpädagogin „Evergreen Kids“), Andreas Färber (Deutscher Kinderschutzbund Plauen e.V.), Marleen Hirsch (Kinder- und Jugendtreff „Villa JuKi“ Triebel/Vogtl.)

The gala not only highlighted the outstanding achievements of these people, but also the power of the community in Vogtland.
