Altglienicke humiliates Zwickau 3-0 – Nietfeld shines in the ex-club!

An exciting game in the Northeast Regional Football League ended today with a clear defeat for FSV Zwickau. On the seventh matchday, coach Joe Enochs' team lost 3-0 to VSG Altglienicke. The game was anything but painless for the Zwickau team, who suffered a bitter setback after four unbeaten games. MDR reports on the one-sided encounter that took place in the Spree Arena in Fürstenwalde in front of 811 spectators.

The first 45 minutes were characterized by a solid defensive performance from Altglienicke, who also surprised with strong counterattacks. In the 44th minute it was Jonas Nietfeld who scored the first goal with a header from a cross and thus secured the lead at halftime. The ex-Zwickauer once again demonstrated his instinct for goal and got his team on the road to victory. Shortly after the break, FSV Zwickau managed to thaw out with a few better chances, but the opposing keeper Klatte was hardly challenged until then. RBB points out that Zwickaus Hiemann was initially able to defuse several dangerous situations.

A brilliant comeback from Altglienicke

In the second round, the Altglienickers continued their winning ways. Jonas Saliger made it 2-0 with an impressive volley in the 70th minute, and just three minutes later Nietfeld was there again to score his second goal of the evening. With that he finally closed the bag and confirmed his team's dominance that day. With this victory, VSG Altglienicke jumps to a strong third place in the table, while Zwickau misses an important point in the fight for the top places.

Zwickau will now have a new start soon, as the next challenge awaits on Tuesday: the team will face 1. FC Magdeburg II. In the previous season there were two defeats against Altglienicke, which puts additional pressure on Zwickau's Bundesliga reserves. The fans are hoping for a return to their old strength after this setback. Kicker points out that a quick switch from defense to attack will now be of utmost importance in order to overcome the next challenges.

In other league games there was an exciting duel between Hertha BSC II and BFC Dynamo, who drew 2-2 and were thus able to consolidate their positions in the table. The particularly demanding first half of the season in the regional league remains exciting.
