Drunk attack on Zwickau pharmacy: 100 euro robbery failed!

In the past few days, the police situation in Germany has come into focus again after a particularly brazen attack caused a sensation in Zwickau. A 23-year-old attacked a pharmacy in Bahnhofstrasse yesterday and was armed with a knife. The attack occurred on Thursday afternoon when the perpetrator of two employees demanded a highly effective pain reliever. However, these did not gave up, whereupon the man reorganized his plans and finally included three packs of another medication worth 100 euros before escaping. This reports Radio Zwickau .

The police were able to arrest the perpetrator a short time later on Bachstrasse. When he was arrested, it turned out that he had an impressive blood alcohol content of 3.86 per thousand and urgently had to be taken to a hospital. As it turned out, the young man had previously broken into an apartment on Lutherstrasse, where he had stolen three knives. Because of these deeds, he must now be responsible for heavy robbery and theft in a particularly difficult case.

tense security situation

The concerned developments arouse memories of similar incidents in other cities, such as a violent attack on a pharmacist in Hanover-Ricklingen. There, two men penetrated the apartment of a 36-year-old on Sunday evening, injured him with a truck and demanded the key to his pharmacy. While one of the perpetrators stole cash from the pharmacy, the other captured the family in the kitchen. In this case, the investigation due to hostage -taking and heavy robbery is still underway. After the incident, the pharmacy remained closed for securing evidence, which led to displeasure among the waiting customers who were rejected despite the appointment. Details can be found on Apotheke adhoc .

The two incidents are unfortunately part of a major problem: According to the statistics on violent crime in Germany, which are available to Statista , violence crimes make up less than 4% of all criminal offenses. Nevertheless, they strongly influence the feeling of security of the citizens. Around 217,000 violent crimes were registered in 2024, the highest number since 2007.

protective measures and prevention

Due to these alarming developments, more and more pharmacies and businesses consider increasing their protective measures. After the attack, the pharmacist in Hanover plans to rely more on safety in order to better protect himself and his employees. The population's feeling of security suffers from these incidents, and the number of acts of violence against emergency services has also reached a maximum. It is a clear appeal to society to stand together for more security and respectful coexistence.

The current incidents illustrate how important it is to keep your eyes open in society and act quickly. Witness calls as in the case of the pharmacy in Hanover are crucial to hold the perpetrators into account and prevent future crimes.
