Creative lace art: exhibition in the Geyerhaus delights visitors!

In the picturesque Geyerhaus in Weißbach, a charming district in the Zwickauer Land, this weekend everything revolves around the delicate art of lace-making. Here the organizers invite you to an exhibition that will show the skills of more than 50 committed participants. They experience a creative time in lace-making courses, which have been led by the experienced Angela Hentschel-Fritzsch for around five years. At the exhibition, the artists will be able to present their unique works, which should make for a colorful and inspiring sight. There is already speculation that the rooms in the historic half-timbered house could be narrower than originally planned due to the large number of participants.

In the past, the art of lace-making has repeatedly received new impulses. The last major exhibition took place under the title “Faszination Lace”, which presented bobbin lace from different eras, and exciting competitions are already planned for the coming years. For example, a competition on the theme of “Wonders of the World” has been announced for 2027, which will focus on ancient architecture and modern masterpieces. There will also be a children's and youth competition based on the fairy tale “Sleeping Beauty” by the Brothers Grimm.

The enthusiasm for lace-making

The lace making course events in the Geyerhaus not only offer the opportunity to express one's own creativity, but also to exchange ideas with like-minded people and learn from one another. The listeners can look forward to a variety of techniques and designs that were developed by the participants with a lot of love and commitment. The lace association attaches great importance to preserving the tradition of lace making while at the same time inspiring new generations to enjoy it.

Interest in this artistic handicraft remains high. Whether young or old – lace making is appreciated by many as a relaxing and at the same time challenging activity. The participants put their best works on display, with the combination of tradition and modernity making the exhibition particularly attractive.

Achievements in lace making

The successes of the last few years are reflected not only in the courses, but also in the lace association's constant efforts to start new initiatives. A participatory project was launched for the upcoming bobbin lace congress 2026 in Erbach in the Odenwald, which is intended to further strengthen the community. In addition, the association's office remains active, despite the challenges posed by a lack of space.

The weekend not only promises a great insight into the art form of lace-making, but also provides space for exchange and inspiration. It's worth paying a visit and experiencing the creative atmosphere, which is characterized by the commitment of the participants and the enthusiasm of the lecturers.
