New momentum in Saxon football: SC Freital and Trainer search begin!
Zwickau, Deutschland - The preparations for the new football season 2025/26 are in full swing! The SC Freital has already taken the first steps to become fit for the upcoming challenges. With a trainer trio consisting of Christopher Beck, Paul Rabe and Marian Weinhold, the signs stand well for the new season. They start on 2nd/3. August with the point game against FC Grimma. It will be exciting for the fans earlier, because on Friday at 6.30 p.m. the Freecal will play their first friendly against FSV Zwickau in the WGF-Arena. A real treat for all supporters of the association!
The draw of the first two rounds around the Saxon Cup also takes place on Friday, with the first encounters in the 1st round on 16./17. August and the 2nd round on 6./7. September. Interesting: The third division clubs, such as the FC Erzgebirge Aue, and the Saxon regional league teams only enter the second round. This could certainly ensure exciting games.

new additions and changes in the Sachsenliga
The Sachsenliga, the highest division of the Saxon Football Association, has changed enormously recently. With SC Freital II, Lipsia Eutritzsch and Tanne Thalheim, new promoters have registered in the league. The league itself consists of 16 teams that fight for the championship title with the aim of increasing directly to the NOFV Oberliga south. There are at least two relegations based on the relegations from higher play classes. A record from the 2007/08 season with 12,150 spectators in the duel between FC Saxony Leipzig II and 1. FC Lokomotive Leipzig shows how popular the league is - and the interest in regional football remains unbroken. The opening game between SSV Markranstädt and Lipsia Eutritzsch takes place on August 8th. This will certainly be a real blast!
There are also news for the teams of the Saxony class. The Radebeuler BC was assigned to the East season, Motor Wilsdruff moves to the West season. SV Bannewitz has announced the first new additions while SV Wesenitztal has changed its squad with several new new ones. SV Chemie Dohna also starts preparation on July 10 with a new coach, Uwe Rahle. So it remains exciting what the coming season will bring!
