Rioters set fire to garage – motorcyclist seriously injured!

On the night of Thursday to Friday, unknown people caused a stir in Crimmitschau when they set fire to a garage in the Ziegelei- and Ringelnatzweg area. A valuable cross motorcycle was damaged. The perpetrators also committed acts of vandalism by hitting another motorcycle with a sledgehammer, which caused significant material damage of around 4,000 euros. They also stole some destroyed padlocks and a construction spotlight, the total value of which was around 50 euros. After their cowardly attack, the perpetrators fled, and the police are asking the public for information to help solve this crime, which Radio Zwickau reported.

The situation for motorcyclists in the region remains tense. A serious accident occurred in Pöhl on Friday afternoon in which a 61-year-old motorcyclist was overlooked by a car while turning. In Markneukirchen, too, a 19-year-old driver had to drive his bike too fast in the curve area on the B 283, which led to a fall. Both motorcyclists suffered serious injuries and had to be taken to hospital.

Traffic accidents and their consequences

Unfortunately, the number of traffic accidents in Saxony is a big issue that should not be underestimated. According to the Saxony Statistics, road traffic accidents are divided into different categories, with a particular focus on accidents with personal injury in which people are injured or killed. Serious accidents occur again and again in which the driving style of those involved plays an important role.

There were no injuries reported in another incident on Friday. A 63-year-old driver who was making way for an ambulance that was on duty collided with an emergency ambulance following behind. Its occupants remained unharmed, but property damage amounted to around 10,000 euros.

Further incidents in the region

Aside from these serious incidents, local police departments are dealing with a variety of other crimes. Various break-ins have occurred recently, such as in a pharmacy in Plauen, where the perpetrator met an employee and then fled without any loot. Other break-ins were also recorded in Oelsnitz and Lengenfeld, causing property damage amounting to several thousand euros.

Police continue to actively seek information to help solve these exciting and concerning incidents. Citizens are asked to contact the police if they observe suspicious events or have information about a crime in Crimmitschau or other locations in order to contribute to security in the region. Only together can we ensure that such incidents become less frequent.
