Zwickau City Festival 2025: Ecumenical service with the motto Unimagined!”

The Zwickau city festival casts its shadow and causes excitement in the region. From August 15th to 17th, 2025 you can look forward to a colorful program that will provide both musical highlights and spiritual moments. On Sunday, August 17th, a special ecumenical city festival service will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on the main market, which will put this year's city festival in an extraordinary light, as the city of Zwickau zwickau.de reports.

The service will be led by Pastor Gregor Giele from the Roman Catholic Church, who will use the theme of his sermon “Unimagined…!” presented in accordance with the city festival motto “Unexpectedly worth seeing”. There will also be numerous participants from various churches, including Insa Lautzas from the Evangelical Lutheran Church, who will enrich our visit with a warm welcome and blessing. There are exciting programs for the children offered by Dagmar Behnken and Margrit Gilgen-Zwahlen, while Christian Hübler from the Adventists gives a reading.

Colorful stage program

But it's not just happening in the churches, there's also a lot going on on the stages. This year's festival's motto is "Stars up close. Pure party. YOU in the middle of it!" On the opening evening, August 15th, Mayor Constance Arndt will kick off the festival together with the main sponsors at 6 p.m. The Zwickau Symphonic Wind Orchestra ensures this with sonorous melodies before the youth wind orchestra takes the stage at 6:20 p.m., followed by further performances until late in the evening.

Friday attracts with a diverse program that is complemented by popular acts such as Liebestrunken and the cult band H-Blockx. It will also be exciting on Saturday with MYLE, Swagger and the highlight Leony. And from Sunday lunchtime it continues with the Bimmelbah' musicians, Marie Reim and the rousing redAttack drum-percussion show, before the weekend ends with CrazyBirds. Such a musical experience is officially making itself felt again in Zwickau stadtfest-zwickau.de.

A commitment to the community

Another important aspect of the ecumenical service is the collection intended for telephone counseling. It is a sign of community and mutual support that goes beyond churches. To make this event accessible to everyone, sign language interpreter Susann Müller will be present to ensure that no one is left out.

The variety of programs and the hustle and bustle are not only an expression of cultural life in Zwickau, but also an example of the networking and coexistence of the different communities. The portal “Christ Beton” makes a valuable contribution to providing an overview of Christian events in German-speaking countries and promotes a Bible-oriented life for everyone interested christliche-veranstaltungen.de.
